Need the ability to filter reports based on project status

Here is what I need.
I have about 50 projects within a workgroup that I am trying to manage.
I have a report of tasks that are due within the next 5 days. Took some cluncky work to differentiate tasks vs summary tasks, but it was easy enough to do.
Next issue / challenge.
When a project stalls for some reason or another, I have no way to exclude that project without hacking a bunch of stuff up.
Recommendations.
Project (sheet) meta-data that is available as a filtering criteria.
WBS Numbering.
Task vs Summary Task (No children == task)

Have you tried using the Reports feature?
http://help.smartsheet.com/customer/en/portal/articles/522214-creating-reports
That would allow you to exclude those projects based on status.
On the summary vs sub tasks, you could create a column checkbox to ID the summary row and just hide it?
Or is there some other criteria that defines the Summary tasks?
We only assign a project # on the Summary Project row and not for the sub task/children so then we can run reports and pull only the tasks with a Project # is not blank.
hope that helps.

In your sheet, create a third section that adds the results of the first two. It would have the same rows, but the formula for each row would add the cells of section 1 + section 2.

Add a helper column called ShowInReport as a Check Box and check all the rows in the third section.

Create a report and tell it to show you only Section 3 (where the ShowInReport is true.

I hope that makes sense.

I am wondering if it is possible to prefill an embedded form on a dashboard by referencing the form in the dashboard URL?
I am wondering if it is possible to prefill an embedded form on a dashboard by referencing the form in the dashboard URL?
[204,254,292,530
