Smartsheet Update for Attachments

#1 - Strongly DISLIKE

#2 - Is there any way to go back to the old attachment format window for rows? The new side bar with multiple clicks to download is super frustrating and is not functional for what we do. Bring back the old attachment window please!!!!

What used to be a one-click to download is now several. If there is a way to revert back to the old attachment style for the rows, please tell me how!!!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated please! Thank you!

  • I wish that at least when I click on another row the attachment thing would disappear. This way it hids stuff.

    I keep seeing this. More clicks to download.I have single click downloads from the sidebar. I have yet to experience this issue where it takes x amount of clicks now. Can anyone please explain what I am missing?

    I simply click on the image of the document same as I always have (circled in screenshot below).

  • Hi Paul,

    When I click on that for option that you have in your image for a .pdf or .png it simply PREVIEWS the attachment. In order to ACTUALLY download it I need to do 3 steps, hover on the side bar to bring up the 3 dots, click on the dots to open the attachment menu and then click download (the download selection is not in the same location every time either). For a .pdf attachment it is first on the selection menu, for a .png it is second on the menu (very frustrating when you are downloading numerous things an hour as quickly as possible). Images attached for you to see. This update was horrible for us. :-(

    Allison, I wonder if maybe it's some kind of setting somewhere. I'm not sure why you have to go through the extra steps. The only time I have to do anything more than click on the icon as I showed above is certain file types trigger security settings, and I need to click one additional button to say that the file is "trusted". Other than that it really is as simple as clicking on the icon.

Is it set to allow for multiple selections? If so, reports cannot group by that. It depends on your automation settings. If you set it to unrestricted, you can send to an email address in a cell without giving them access to the sheet. The items listed on the left hand side are the actions<\/em> that trigger<\/strong> the workflow. Then the boxes indicate where you want those notifications to be displayed. Messaging Apps<\/strong> is associated with Teams. <\/p>

There are 2 ways to receive alerts in Teams: through the Smartsheet Bot (direct notifications) or to a Channel (defined in a workflow). <\/p>

If your users don't want to receive other notifications in Teams, they can uninstall the Smartsheet Bot, see: Microsoft Teams Integration: Uninstall the Smartsheet Bot<\/a><\/p>

In your workflow you've chosen a channel, <\/em>so even if they have the Bot uninstalled, they should still receive your message in the channel as it's not a direct message specifically to them. Does that make sense? <\/p>
