I currently have a chart in a dashboard which displays 15+ items as lines. It is great that I can enable/disable each item individually but is there a way to have them disabled by default when you open the dashboard instead of just showing them all then then going one-by-one to disable them (and showing just a couple at a time)?

I understand. Unfortunately, there is no other option that I see. One thing to make it easier for you to add the name is to have a helper column in the source sheet with a formula to identify duplicates.
