Work Around for Auto-Number in Web Form

I have my smartsheet set up so that x1 day after approval an email will be sent to the Manager requesting completed documents be uploaded into smartsheet.

In my head I was going to create:

  1. Form submission: to include: (1) The auto-number "Notification Number" that was assigned the day before. (2) ability to upload document(s).
  2. Alert email: set to send to manager the day after notification number was assigned: to include: (3) a link to the Form submission.

I know you can't access the Auto-Number column in Forms so I created a rule that duplicates the auto-number to a new field that is set as single option drop down. However, even my new pseudo Notification Number is not available as a field option in the Form submission.

Thoughts?

    Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

    • You could use an Automated Alert Workflow and include a link to the form pre-filled with the auto-number by using the URL-Query feature.

    Request to Close: Approved

    New Request to Re-Open: I want the Notification Number from the Request to Close be allowed to enter into the Form for Request to Re-Open so that the it shows the facility approved to close then approved to re-open.

    With the URL I cant seem to wrap my head around how to assign the Notification Number to the Form if I don't know what facility the requests are coming from.

    Make any sense?

Is it set to allow for multiple selections? If so, reports cannot group by that.
