View/Comment Only?
I'd like to allow people to view my sheet and comment on tasks without being able to make any other edits. It would be great to have more specific control of user permissions to make this possible.

Have you tried Locking all the input columns? I think you can do this, but the comment column remains open.

Not a bad idea. Thanks for the tip. The only problem would be that other users whodoneed to edit the sheet would all have to have admin status. I might be able to live with that, though...

Non-admin users can edit any non-locked cells. While I have some locked columns and rows, I need people to mark checkboxes for completion. This has been working well.

Even if all columns are locked, an "Editor" can still add or delete rows on the sheet.I agree with BMar; I only want collaborators to view the sheet, but be able to add comments.
