Using @mentions in comments

Tag a person in the comment to add them to the conversation.

When you tag a person in a comment, they’ll receive a notification with a link to the comment in the sheet.

How a person receives the notification will depend on their ownnotification settings.

Pro Plan users can send up to 300 emails from Smartsheet per day. Smartsheet emails are sent when you@mentionsomeone in a conversation, send a row, share a Smartsheet item, send a form submission confirmation, etc. If you need to send more than 300 emails daily, you will need to upgrade to one of our otherplans.

To tag someone in a comment

Type @<user’s email address>. If you are inside aWorkApp, you need to enter the complete email address.

When you @mention someone who isn’t shared to the sheet

You’ll be prompted to share the sheet, and give appropriate permissions to them so they can have access to the comment. Note that you’ll only receive this prompt if you have Owner, Admin, or Editor - Can share access to the sheet.

Respond to an @mention directly from email

When someone comments with an @mention, you can reply to the comment with one of the following options:

Option 1: Reply in the sheet

In the email notification, selectReply in Smartsheet.

When you select this option, the sheet will open in a new browser tab. You'll see the comment in theConversations面板,你可以直接回复。

Option 2: Respond directly to the email message

When you respond to the email, the response will create a reply to the comment in the sheet. Once you send your response, the sender will receive an @mention notification. (You may notice that theReply-toemail address will beSmartsheet Conversationwith the email address notification++[unique conversation key]@reply.smartsheet.com.)

Other things you need to know about @mentions

• 如果你有Viewer permissions and you received an @mention email, you will receive an invitation to view the sheet. You can’t respond to the email to create a comment. You can only respond from email if you have permissions to create a comment on the sheet.
• The received comment will appear as text only.
• Attachments are not included.
